A day in Riyadh
A four-day event showcasing the urban, environmental, transportation, social and economic development of Saudi Arabia’s capital city. The event was set to run from September 27-30 2016, at the United Nations Headquarters, New York, in conjunction with the 71st regular session of the UN General Assembly.
It highlighted Riyadh’s journey of development as well as its future challenges. Besides de-mystifying the city, the event also boosted cooperation between the Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA), named after the region in which Riyadh is located, and UN experts, agencies and development programs.
CYAN developed an augmented reality app as a companion piece to the exhibit “A day in Riyadh”. The application allows the users to visualise 3D representations of the urban development of the city of Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its infrastructures starting in 1950 and previewing what it will look like in 2030.
In conjunction with the exhibit catalogue, the application also allows the users to visualize interviews with citizens of Riyadh illustrating their daily life.
